Chroma-Key

Chroma keying is a technique for compositing two images together in which a color from one image is removed, revealing another image behind it.  It is commonly used in video production and post-production. This technique is also referred to as greenscreen or bluescreen.  It is also used for weather broadcasts and in the entertainment industry for special effects.
